Guys, I’m going to be a mama of TWO in 45-ish days. How the heck did that happen? It feels like just yesterday I shared the exciting news with y’all and now we’re suddenly in the home stretch. YIKES! I’ve been working on a few pregnancy posts and realized I better get them up there before Little Miss arrives. Today I’m sharing a few of my favorite maternity fashion finds, some of which I purchased during my first pregnancy, others more recently that I plan to get some post-prego wear out of, too.
1. Side Ruched Maternity Dress — $39.98 but currently 25% off
Guys, I love this dress! Until last week I had avoided maternity clothing stores mostly because I didn’t think they’d quite be my style. In need of a dress with some arm coverage for a video shoot last week, I popped into Motherhood Maternity and was pleasantly surprised to find a couple of cute options! This one in particular is both flattering and versatile, not to mention super comfy. I loved it so much I took advantage of the sale going on and bought it in both purple and black. It looks great by itself with sandals or flats and a long necklace and will be a great fall transition piece with long cardigan, denim jacket or oversized scarf and booties.
2. Maternity Workout Capris — $29.99
Of all of the maternity clothes I own, I’ve gotten the most mileage out of these babies. I literally wear them for every workout except for when I’m in the pool. The low back design keeps you cool and the belly band can be worn both over or below the bump depending on what’s most comfortable. For the price, I don’t think there’s a better pair of maternity workout leggings out there.
3. Levis Original Trucker Denim Jacket — $64.50
Considering its post-pregnancy wear potential, a denim jacket is a definitely a good piece to invest in. If you don’t yet own one, they look great over plain maternity dresses, tees and tanks. I own this one and wear it at least a few times a week! I’m currently loving it over the side ruched maternity dress above with these sneakers or a cute pair of booties.
4. J Brand Mama J Maternity Super Skinny Jean — $188
Some pieces are worth investing in and for me, pants and jeans are it — pregnant or not. I bought these back when I was expecting Noah and they’re still my go-to maternity jeans. Two years ago they seemed to run a little big — the pair I own are one size smaller than my usual pre-pregnancy J Brand size.
5. Citizens of Humanity Avedon Skinny Maternity Jeans — $188
In addition to a good pair of dark denim, I also can’t live without my black skinnies. These are super flattering, comfy and are true to pre-maternity size. They’ve been with me since my first pregnancy and still look and fit great.
6. ASOS Maternity Nursing Side Zip Sweater — $56
If you’re planning to breastfeed, nursing-friendly clothes make all the difference, especially when you’re out and about with your babe. ASOS is one of the few brands I’ve come across with cute (and not super expensive) breastfeeding-friendly attire. I recently ordered this sweater and love that I can wear it both now and after Little Miss is born.
7. Tie Detail Maternity Dress — $39.98 but currently 25% off
Another Motherhood Maternity dress I fell in love with. It’s soft, flowy, flattering and comfortable. And the best thing of all is I know I’ll get post-pregnancy wear out of it, too. It also comes in a really pretty sage green color.
8. Zara Oversized Scarf — $35.90
Like denim jackets, oversized scarves are a great way to get more mileage out of those maternity basics, especially during the fall and winter months. You can literally give the same dress 50 different looks just by swapping your scarf and, in my opinion, Zara has the best ones out there. I just got this one the other day — it goes amazingly well with the purple ruched dresss above. I’ll definitely be wearing them together once the cooler weather comes in later this week.
