I am so excited for Thanksgiving next week. The hubs and I will be spending our holiday weekend here at home in San Francisco. Yay for no long, airport security lines or dreadful traffic jams–this year Rob’s parents volunteered to travel to us! The rents may be insane but living in this city has it perks. With wine country so close, it’s not very hard to convince friends and family to come visit us.
So next Thursday, my best friend Katie and I are co-hosting a friendsgiving feast for eight. Neither of us have officially hosted a big holiday meal before so we decided to divide and conquer. I’m bringing the bird, she’s providing the booze, and together we’re somehow going to pull together our first Thanksgiving feast.
The bird’s been on order for weeks and the dinner menu is finally coming together. This year I used Foodie to put together a collection of the Thanksgiving dishes we’ll be digging into next week. Some are old favorites but others, like this Salted Caramel Chocolate Cake, I’m hoping will become a new tradition.

Started planning yours yet? Trying anything new this year?
This post was sponsored opportunity with Foodie.com and, in my opinion, they’re awesome!
Great collection!
I host Christmas day, but typically do the traditional turkey day meal. Might change up appetizers or veggies and don’t do an additional dessert anymore because I bake a lot of cookies to give as presents so we have the extra batches that I make for home. :) Good luck with your dinner! Saved the chickpeas–might need to make those for Christmas :)
Great idea for consolidating the baking & dessert making! I’m super excited to try those chickpeas too!
I am not cooking this year, but I have been wanting to try the crispy chickpeas, maybe I’ll make it soon!
Lucky lady not having to cook! :)
Um, that cake looks AMAZING. I think I’m going to try and make that a new tradition too! Thanks for sharing – I’ll definitely be checking out Foodie!
That cake—had to wipe the drool from the keyboard! Now, Elle, can you make a “skinny” version ;)
@disqus_ua6bbnorzN:disqus I would NEVER think of doing such a thing. ;)
what if I beg LOL down 100lbs, that cake would put it all back on :P
