Friday afternoon the hubs and I hit the road to sunny Santa Barbara for a special weekend celebration–the 10th wedding anniversary of our good friends Anna & Mason. Because sipping champagne and half marathon training don’t really go well together, I got up early Friday morning to tackle my first long, training run. Friday was supposed to be a rest day so the run was more of a 7 mile slog, but it was nice to have it behind me before the start of the weekend!
Unfortunately for my tired legs, the weather was too perfect not to do a hike on Saturday. We indulged in sleeping in but then got our butts in gear and trekked the 45 minutes up to Inspiration Point. I had heard it’s a Santa Barbara classic with spectacular views–I now know why so many of you recommended it the last time we were there! I snapped this photo looking back on Inspiration Point from the pier yesterday, which is almost as beautiful as the views from the top.
Saturday night’s anniversary festivities were held at the stunning San Ysidro Ranch. The venue was amazingly beautiful and the decor like a lawn party at Restoration Hardware, my favorite home store ever. We sipped sparkling wine, shared an incredible meal (including the best mac & cheese of my life) and danced under the stars until our feet couldn’t take any more. It was so fun being able to celebrate Anna & Mason who were just in Italy for our wedding three months ago! After this weekend, I’m already looking forward to our tenth anniversary celebration/2nd wedding. Only 9 years and 9 months to go!
Oh and as promised, a photo of my new bangs! They do require a bit more work in the morning but I think they’re a fun change for Fall.
What fun did you get into this weekend–any parties, hikes or training runs?
Love the new bangs! And gorgeous dress!!
Thanks, darling!
I got bangs for summer. I loved them but yes you actually have to style your hair everytime! I think they look great!
Your bangs are gorgeous! And what a beautiful weekend to celebrate your friends <3 No weekend training runs for me but I did go to a taco festival in Chicago with some friends, does that count as a party? ;)
The bangs look good on you! When I lived in the Bay Area, I wanted to travel to Santa Barbara, but never got there. It looks so pretty!
Adorable bangs, lady! And love that dress.
The bangs are rockin’, they look so natural on you! Sometimes you have to maneuver training runs so they don’t take over your entire weekend, so glad you took some time to yourself. I had a crazy hilly 9 mile run this weekend but then got to indulge in some treats at a bridal shower afterwards!
LOVE the bangs! So fun to mix it up once in a while, isn’t it?
I love your new hairstyle and the dress! It looks good on you.
Love the bangs on you! I’m another curly head who has to just admire others’ bangs, haha. But they look great with your hair and face shape too!
Beautiful pics, and love the bangs too! Happy fall!
The bangs look great! I love your dress too. The celebration looks beautiful… makes me want to plan a dinner party!
We always sit in those chairs when we’re in RH!! The way they block out ambient sound is like going into your own world! I say if you can pull off bangs, go for it! I have naturally curly hair so unless I want to get all crunchy with hairspray and shellac my curling iron, I have to admire bangs from afar.
