    • Sometimes we eat our oatmeal with a spoon, sometimes it's just an accessory, but we always make our oatmeal with real milk! 😆🥣🥛 ••• Not only does milk make for a creamier, more satisfying of breakfast, it gives our morning grains a boost of fat for satiety and brain development, protein for growth, and essential nutrients like calcium and vitamin D to build strong, healthy bones. Oatmeal is a fabulous food for littles to start exploring utensils with because it sticks to the spoon. More in their mouth = less on the floor! 🥄🙌🏻 •••⠀⠀ To make our favorite morning oatmeal, combine 1 cup old-fashioned oats, 1 1/2 cups dairy milk, 1 teaspoon cinnamon and 2 teaspoons brown sugar in a medium saucepan. Cover and simmer over medium-low heat, stirring every few minutes, for 10-12 minutes or until oats are soft and most of the milk has been absorbed.     • What are your favorite foods to cook in the Instant Pot? Little miss and I can’t get enough sweet potatoes lately — with melted butter, and a pinch of salt, obviously. 😂 To cook, just put a little water in the bottom, place a 2-3” tater on the rack and set it for 15 minutes on high. Give it a 10-minute natural release and you’ve got a perfectly cooked sweet potato! 🍠 ••• #instantpotrecipes #sweetpotato #babyfoodrecipes #instantpot #instapotrecipes

    • What was your favorite food as a kid? ⁣⁣Mine was a big ol’ bowl of my mom’s mac and cheese — made with an entire block of Velveeta. ⠀ ⠀ Oh to be a child of the 80s. 😆⠀ ⠀ As you can see, we still love our mac and cheese around here, but I’ve found more nutritious ways to make it for our littles. ⠀ ⠀ This creamy, stovetop cauliflower mac and cheese is one of our wintertime go-tos, made with real milk, cheese, and an entire head of cauliflower. Our kids literally go crazy for it (swipe right) 😜 and admittedly, so do we. ⠀ ⠀ This dish has quickly become a family favorite so I'm sharing our recipe below. Go on and bookmark this baby for a quick, nutritious, kid-friendly meal on a cold day. ⠀ ⠀ INGREDIENTS⠀ 8 ounces uncooked elbow macaroni ⠀ 1 ½ tablespoons butter⠀ 1 ½ tablespoons flour ⠀ 1 cup chicken or vegetable broth⠀ 1 cup milk⠀ ¾ teaspoon dry mustard⠀ 12 ounces (about 4-5 cups) cauliflower florets cut into 1” chunks (from 1 small head)⠀ 1 ½ cups shredded cheese (cheddar, Gruyere, Monterey Jack etc.)⠀ ⠀ DIRECTIONS⠀ Cook the pasta according to package directions. Drain and set aside. ⠀ ⠀ Melt butter in a large saucepan over medium-low heat. Add flour and stir constantly just until roux puffs slightly, about 1-2 minutes. Stir in the broth, milk and dry mustard until smooth. ⠀ ⠀ Increase heat to medium-high. Add cauliflower and bring milk-broth to a rapid simmer, stirring frequently. Immediately reduce the heat back to medium-low, cover and simmer until cauliflower is very tender, about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. ⠀ ⠀ Carefully transfer cauliflower and milk-broth to a blender. Firmly hold the lid to prevent hot liquid from escaping and puree until completely smooth, about 20-30 seconds. Return puree to pan over medium-low heat. Add the shredded cheese and cooked macaroni, stirring well until cheese has melted.
