Ankle Boots 3 Ways for Fall

City living and small closets go hand-in-hand. Our apartment here in San Francisco is no exception. I’m not going to say I never complain about my lack of closet real estate (let’s be real, what girl doesn’t), but having to downsize from a large walk-in to a narrow, floor-to-ceiling number last year actually had one perk I wasn’t expecting: it made me a much more thoughtful shopper.

I recently had the chance to collaborate with DSW on a fun challenge: create three different fall looks with one pair of shoes. Ankle boots are pretty much everything this season (especially here in the Bay Area where they can be worn year-round) and just so happened to be the one thing my (relatively small) wardrobe needed. Lucky for me, I found some great brown leather ankle boots at DSW the other week. As you’ll see, my looks range from city dinner-chic to elegant grunge–details for each are below. Enjoy!

TIP: For the same aged-leather look, simply buff these ankle boots with a soft rag and a little rubbing alcohol and let dry. SIZING NOTE: I typically wear size 8 but purchased a 7.5.
