With the hubs out of town on business this week, I’ve spent my evenings combing through my closet, thinning out from seasons past and coming up with new ways to wear what I already own–which of course has necessitated a little late-night shopping while snuggled up on the sofa. Fall is one of my favorite seasons to dress for and, thankfully, I live in a city where fall clothing can be worn pretty much year round in some way, shape or form because of the more neutral color palette and layered looks. As you might imagine this makes shopping this time of year pretty darn easy to rationalize.
When it comes to neutrals, I generally don’t discriminate. Black, white, brown, taupe–they all claim approximately the same amount of real estate in my closet. Lately though, I admit… I’ve been having a full-on love affair with black. Some might even consider it a borderline obsession.
If you think I’m kidding, check out these smoky fall favorites that have already made their way into my wardrobe this season. I may need an intervention before winter arrives!
1. Arizona Birkenstocks (loving the black hardware on the vegan version) // 2. Leather Satchel (replacing my favorite black handbag which, after 4 years, is officially falling apart) // 3. Felt Fedora // 4. Leather Trim Sweater (tried this on in-store & had to have it!) // 5. Black Suede Booties (so versatile!) // 6. Watch (so not a watch person but these are so basic & beautiful!) // 7. Aviators (pretty much my go-to sunglasses)
If you had to choose: black or brown this season?
P.S. In addition to my fall wardrobe, the blog is also getting a new look this season. Check back tomorrow for the official debut!
