It’s a…

When we first found out I was pregnant with baby #2 I was pretty excited about the idea of another surprise. We didn’t intend to find out what we were having the first time but I accidentally figured it out during one of our ultrasounds and spent the next 5 1/2 months trying to convince myself I hadn’t seen what I thought I saw.  Needless to say, when I found out we were expecting I was determined to have a true surprise this time around!

As time went on and my 18-week anatomy scan neared, something changed though. I started getting more excited about the idea of finding out. Part of me needed to prepare myself ‑ mentally and physically ‑ for another boy, if that’s what we were having. We also now have the space for a cute nursery, something we didn’t really have with Noah back in San Francisco. And then there are the bins of baby boy clothes that continue to stack up…

Ultimately the hubs and I decided we wanted to find out. I, of course, needed at least a little suspense so at our last ultrasound we asked the technician put the gender results in an envelope and promptly took the envelope to a local bakery to have cupcakes made. Two days later we picked up our cupcakes and bit into them that evening while hanging out on the back patio.

As you can see by the frosting all over Noah’s face, not only did he enjoy his cupcake we’re also having a GIRL!!!

And we couldn’t be more excited. In fact I’ve already started plotting nursery decor and buying adorable baby girl clothes, much to the hubs’ chagrin.

Thanks so much to all of you who entered the gender reveal giveaway yesterday. The majority of you were spot on — girl guesses outnumbered boy guesses by nearly 2:1!

Without further ado, the winner of the giveaway who guessed correctly is Stephanie! Congrats lady!
